 Mission

The "1000ème de secondes" festival aims to highlight the work of sports photographers

by creating a dedicated outdoor exhibition.

During the summer season, this open-air festival takes place in a natural setting on the banks of the Loire, in the heart of the magnificent Loire village of Saint-Mathurin-sur-Loire, between Angers and Saumur.

It thus becomes, for three months, a magnificent theater in which nearly 200 sports photos, whether spectacular, iconic or unpublished, are exposed to the public. In striking formats, going as far as suspended large tarpaulins, they follow a peaceful and easily identifiable photographic journey.

The enhancement of this profession lies in particular in the quality of the photos on display. This is why we invite photographers from the biggest international agencies. Internationally renowned professionals, men and women, who cover the biggest sporting events all year round: Olympic Games, Football World Cup, 6 Nations Rugby Tournament, Tennis Grand Slams and many others.

 Commitments

To organize the festival, "1000ème de secondes" is involved at different levels:

In order to favor the local approach, we work with companies based in the town of Loire Authion. This is the case for guest accommodation and catering.

The implementation of the festival is also ensured in partnership with companies in the region or county, in particular for the printing of photos or the provision of presentation materials.

For this second edition, the association has integrated itself with a work-study student from the Win Sport school, based in Angers.

The environmental aspect is also at the heart of our preoccupations. This is why we decided to work with Agelia, a specialist printing company. The company has been awarded the "Reflex Nature" label and uses vegetable inks for printing photos.

We continue to implement this policy after the event: the tarpaulins are recycled, the supports reused...

Each year, we organize the festival around commitments that seem important to us:
